Artwork Inspired by Po Ching Fang
Fang's Art:

For our class final project, the artist I researched and used his work as inspiration was Po Ching Fang. I loved the color varieties of blue he used and how all his pieces look so smooth. It is really cool how all his pieces are different shapes and styles. I incorporated his work into my project by using an earthy blue to get a similar environmental look. Po Ching Fang is a clay artist who taught ceramics since 1997. Fang lives in Taiwan, China. His current profession is an assistant Professor & Active Chair of the Department of Material Arts and Design. He has earned many awards in his life so far, like the "National Ceramics Contest on Chinese Zodiac Sign 2015”, “2014 Award of Miaoli Ceramics ”, “The First Taiwan Young Pottery Artist Award & Biennale”,〝FRANZ AWARD 2010.〞
My Project:
Length: 5 inches
Width: 5 1/2 inches
Height: 2 1/2 inches
Mediums used: Clay and glaze
I have a dog named Minnie who is 5 years old. I wanted to make bowls for her because she's been using the same ones since she was a baby. Also, dogs cannot see certain colors so I chose blue and yellow because they are the ones they can see best.
